Haven't been taking care of this project for years but it looks like the maintainers aren't active anymore. Merging and closing other similar PRs.

I know the project is not maintained anymore but is there a chance to have a new (possibly the last) release containing this fix?

I don't mind merging PRs and doing releases at all, I thought getting it on master was enough

Not sure I still own the npm package, will do, but in the meantime you can just use the tag
