Well, it is needed that Jesus appears born in 4 BC/749 AVC for the conversion from AUC to AD to make some sense. The problem is however to define the day since 25 December is obviously wrong

If we add the nativity of Jesus' event, it should probably fire only for rulers in the region (called Palestine in the game). For example, an emperor in Rome should not be notified about this even if he controls the area.

The problem is however to define the day since 25 December is obviously wrong

Obviously? What I have read is that we don't know if it's right, but not that we know it is wrong. I'd go for 25.12.-4 for a lack of better date.

  1. Good idea. It was Herod that got scared of Christ's birth, not Augustus
  2. The shepherds wouldn't have been hanging around during winter. But, since we have no better date, we could use 25 December 4 BC

About the crucifixion, instead, what day should be used?

I've read this argument, but also contrarguments like the mildness of winters in ancient Israel.

Either 7.4.30 or 3.4.33. If we go for nativity in 4 BC (ironic), we should probably go for crucifixion on 7.4.30.
