Corrupt SAMI creation when doing Save as #83

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open .srt subtitle file
2. open video file
3. edit timecode
4. go to File --> Save as
5. choose SAMI (.smi) for Save as Type
6. put video, SAMI and ASX file into one folder together
7. edit ASX to point to video and have the SAMI file for captions/subtitles
8. double click on the ASX file to play video
9. no captions appear

What is the expected output?
- It is expected to have caption appear with the video when it plays back in
windows media player.

What do you see instead?
- video with no captions.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
- Version 3.2.5 running on Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit

Please provide any additional information below.
- the problem appears to be something hidden within the SAMI file created in
Subtitle edit. Any form of cut and paste from a know and good .smi file does
not fix the problem. My guess is that the sami is somehow corrupted upon
creation.

Hi there!

SAMI files are very sensitive!
You cannot have any overlapping/negative time codes and you must save in ANSI
format like "1252 - Western European (Windows)"

If you still cannot make it work do attach your sub here, so I can take a look.
