A problem with the kanji 年 (Toshi) #3

Hello! So far, i'm enjoying the addon. But I've come a cross a strange issue. I don't exactly know what i'm doing in the first place, when it comes to clicking the correct buttons to make the pitch accent addon work (when setting up the addon). But one of the kanji seem to be having an issue. I only just downloaded it and I don't know a lot of kanji, so I only come up with the issues as I learn. Anyway, all the other kanji cards come up with correct (I'd assume) pitch accents. But 年 (Toshi) seems to have an issue. Both the kana reading and the kanji seem to be an issue, they're both wrong.

I'm not sure if its the way that I used the addon, when adding the pitch accencts, or if its the kanji itself.

Hi Samonam,

glad to hear you're liking the addon and thank you for your feedback.

I presume you're card is now displaying ねん with a high-low-low pitch accent instead of とし with a low-high-low pattern, correct? The reason for this is that the former is listed first in the pitch accent dictionary that the addon uses. You can confirm this on this website where I've built a simple web interface for the data. If you enter 年 in the text field you can toggle through all the readings/patterns available.

To change to reading and accent pattern on your card you have two options:

Hope this helps. :)

Hi! Thank you for your response!

The deck i'm using is a "2000 commons words" type of shared deck. I was able to get parse through about 100 cards so far, changing the incorrect pitch accents. Thank you! But I've realized that this might go one forever! 2000 is a lot of cards. I was hoping to ask for you assistance again. There seem to be many cards with issues, I'm afraid to (re-)generate the pitch accent addon because I've gone this far into fixing the incorrect cards.

I'm inexperienced with Anki and the addon. Do you mind helping me with the steps to correct the issue cards quickly? Thank you!

As you're the first person to note an apparently high ratio of "mismatched" readings I presume there's something about the deck you're using that the addon doesn't handle well. Could you share some examples for cards where the pitch accent pattern doesn't match the reading you're expecting? I.e., name

A link to the shared deck would also be helpful.

Cheers

Oh gosh! I'm unsure if its the deck or not, maybe it's the way generated the pitches. Anyway, here is the link to the download for the deck i'm using https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/2141233552

And a screenshot of one of the cards I haven't changed yet. Hopefully It has everything you need to diagnose. Screenshot (10)

I'm sorry for all this bother. Thanks a ton for your patience and help.

No worries. (;

Thanks for providing the link and screenshots. For cards with these fields the way to add pitch accent using the addon should be as follows:

To test this without messing with your already manually changed cards you could do the following:
