Dabear14 commented 2 weeks ago
  1. Presentation Overview
    • Overall purpose: To create a stock simulation game that Mr. Mortensen can use between lessons to teach and test stock/financial literacy
    • At our presentation, we will showcase our proof concept that contains all the necessary functionality (login/create account, browse stocks, buy/sell stocks, view portfolio insights)
  2. Audience Feedback TBD
  3. Questions and Answers TBD
  4. Demonstration and Interactions
    • We will have our audience interact with our stock manager and use of all its functionality in order to provide them firsthand experience interacting with our features. We will walk the audience through creating an account, logging in, viewing live stock updates via Yahoo Finance API. We will also showcase an in-depth stocks tab that also contains stock volume, 52 week high/low, and daily high/low, buy sell functions and the dynamically updating portfolio.
    • After demonstrating the functionality of our project, we will go over our iterative cycle of development and improvement. Tanay will show ...
    • Lastly, we will explain our future plans to use the API to fetch one-year old stock data to create the stock simulation game.
  5. Reflection TBD

Nitin Balaji: Really nice frontend, and nice functionality. Would be good see full simulation

Akhil Singamneni: The UI is very nice to see and is clear on the info displayed. There is a lot of functionality on the website and uses the backend features well to provide information about the stock market. You could maybe work on seeing the price of a stock on a certain day in the future.

Mihir Thaha: The UI is really nice and I like to see the backend workign in real time. I also like the fact that your backend is in Java - seems pretty hard to do. I like the login system aswell, and would love to see this implemented as a game.

Ohhh tanay, where do I even begin. This website reflects you deep understanding on python, java, html, CSS, APIs, and many more. The website is very nuanced, and greatly styled. - Akshaj

Great work. UI seems comfortable to use from a new user pov. Small improvements can be made, but good work otherwise. Excellent use of publicly available APIs

Great project, and everything is organized and simple. I believe that this idea of yours to make it an educational way for people to learn stocks and have a better idea of them is great! Good job and I believe you will have great progress on this! -LH
