bus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bus - great that we've got truck, van now .. bus is the last one to complete traffic labelling. There's also the similar coach, but I think bus can cover all. double decker bus might be nice aswell as these have distinct proportions/features (another row of windows..)

construction sites tend to have lots of interesting objects, most notably excavator, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excavator and (subtype mini-excavator is also very common),

backhoe loader https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backhoe_loader - seems to be quite common,

bulldozer, tipper truck

skip (waste container in construction sites), catch alls:- construction machine https://www.liebherr.com/en/gbr/products/construction-machines/construction-machines.html or heavy equipment https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_equipment

trailer, semi trailer .. towable objects.. some features common with vehicles

'construction machine' is what would have sprung to mind had I not looked up 'heavy equipment' .. there's lots of items around that are hard to name .. various things

tractor , sometimes visible on rural roads or fields https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tractor, looks very similar to 'backhoe loader'. (in terms of recognition.. a 'backhoe loader' would be a combination of tractor and excavator features?)

horse,sheep,cow - a few more animals, agricultural/rural scenes ( I did see a few of these )

fork lift https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forklift

screen shot 2018-07-04 at 06 48 03

crane , tower crane https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crane_(machine)#Tower_crane quite common in urban skylines, there's also gantry crane around docks

aircraft, jet airliner, helicopter, - to cover the airport scenes.. there's sometimes a few parked heli's in exhibitions or they're visible in the sky

boat or ship (specific types cruise ship , warship sometimes visible parked around here, ferry , a distinct type of passenger boat/ship),yacht, sailing ship

few more items of common furniture:- table , bench, park bench, desk to complement chair .. these seem common in the stock photos

hand/person .. very common in the stock photos .. could also help getting you data for gesture recognition? I imagine that these common parts (head vs hand) would narrow training down for feature recognition e.g. closeups on these are very different to entire human figures

gate, door to complement window - common building parts . 'gates' look more like fences than doors, steps, ramp staircase common urban feature, important for wheeled robots perhaps, they can only use one..

chimney, roof/building more distinct building parts, easily isolated on skylines. shop front to complement house, distinguishes commercial from residential areas

fence, barrier things similar to wall .. 'barrier' is usually moveable boom barrier - unusual name I had to look up but quite common , e.g. open car parks, level crossing

petrol station ,petrol pump common distinct type of building

bin (catch all), wheelie bin (very common), litter bin (static)

bus shelter, telephone box

parts:-

handle ... common part, parts of objects people interact with

wheel .. very common part.. of vehicles and other objects eg office chairs cabin , e.g. cabin/vehicle, cabin/boat, cabin/excavator, cabin/truck ..https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabin_(truck) .. easily isolated vehicle part

laptop common in stock photos

many thanks for the sugestions! I'll add them to the next batch of labels, which will be pushed to production on the weekend (hopefully together with some new features and/or bug fixes)
