Hello,
I'm sorry Apple makes it so inconvenient to use our software. You need to open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General (tab) > Open Anyway (button to the bottom right). Then click on Open when prompted. Imaginary Teleprompter will install and run fine, even on M1 macs through Rosetta.
A few years ago Apple added these measures to prevent macOS users from installing malware from the internet, and to make profit. The problem is in order to become a verified developer individuals must pay an annual fee of 99 USD to be a part of the The Apple Developer Program. Imaginary Sense wasn't in a good economical situation to pay for this luxury, and we don't make any money from Imaginary Teleprompter, so Imaginary Sense is not a verified developer.
I'm leaving the Mac installers up. Our binaries are malware free and we've never received a complaint or a bad rating due to poor security. This is not a warranty tho. Imaginary Teleprompter comes with no warranty. If security is a concern, I will suggest installing Imaginary Teleprompter on Ubuntu Linux through the Snap store. That version offers levels of containerization equivalent to the latest macOS.
Hope you enjoy using Imaginary Teleprompter.
I'm using the latest version of Imaginary Teleprompter (2.4.0) linked from the download page to Sourceforge. I drag the icon from the .dmg installer into the "Applications" folder, and tried to launch it, when I got the above screen.
Is it worth removing the Mac installer for now, until this can be resolved?
Many thanks for your work!
