This looks to be a libsodium
issue similar to this (linking to this), where the same two tests are failing in the libsodium
make check
phase, and also to some extent this.
I'm running an older version of OS X and I observe that when I install PyNaCl
via pip
, it's installing a binary wheel which presumably includes all the dependencies -- I never see it try to build libsodium.
What version of pip
are you using? I've seen a couple of places (e.g. here) saying that if you upgrade pip, you'll get a binary install of PyNaCl
but I wonder if there isn't a binary wheel available for Catalina.
I tried downloading the same PyNaCl source that your install is downloading and then building the included libsodium that you can find in PyNaCl-1.3.0/src/libsodium
and I can build successfully and all tests pass when running make check
.
I'm assuming this may be a Catalina issue. I'll investigate further.
Are you running in a virtualenv? If so, can you run pip install -U pip setuptools wheel
to update things and then try pip install PyNaCl
again and see if it pulls a wheel rather than trying to install from source?
Hi, sorry will be away for a few weeks. I will try to do this ASAP.
No worries, whenever you get a chance. Thanks.
Hi @pasevin, just following up on this. I have tested with Python 3.6.10 on Catalina and the test suite runs fine.
Have you been testing within a virtualenv
? Are you using a system version of Python or one installed via macports or brew? I'm using 3.6.10 installed via macports. I then pip install virtualenv
, create and activate a virtual environment and I can then successfully run python setup.py test
.
Can you provide a little more info about the environment you're trying to run the tests in?
Thanks.
Thanks for highlighting this issue, I'm going to close it now but please reopen if you're still experiencing issues when trying to run the test suite.
As per https://github.com/ImperialCollegeLondon/django-drf-filepond/issues/25
I have the problem trying to execute setup.py with test. I have no experience with this kind of issue, maybe you can pin point where's the culprit.
My setup:
MacOS Catalina Python 3.6
