Obtainium downloads incompatible apps #1013

Open ModiGrey opened 8 months ago

ModiGrey commented 8 months ago

Describe the bug When updating any app from apkpure or uptodown either the update fails to install due to incompatible error message, or it would install a corrupted version of an app where the app completely fails to launch after install. For example, instagram-lite would show an error message while tiktok-lite and obsidian would install but not run at all after installing the update.

To Reproduce

  1. Add an app url from apkpure or uptodown
  2. Try to update the app
  3. wait for download to finish
  4. an incompatible error will appear or app won't launch after install

Please complete the following information:

Additional context I Believe Obtainium downloads the Arm64-v8a version of apps instead of Armeabi-v7a and that's might be the problem.

Experiencing the same issue for every update. Device: Google Pixel 6 Pro OS: GrapheneOS 14 with microg Obtainium Version: 0.14.40 Droid-ify

I have been experiencing the same issue, except only with installing/updating the Tor Browser app from the Tor Project website, using the url: https://www.torproject.org/download. Installing it from Google Play or the Aurora store works just fine though.

My error message is slightly different, it reads:

Some Errors Occurred Incompatible [App]

And when I try to update it when the app has already been installed from Aurora store, it reads:

Some Errors Occurred Incompatible [Tor Browser]

Device: Google Pixel 6a OS: GrapheneOS 14 Obtainium Version: 0.15.9 (installed directly from the GitHub apk)

Should I open up a separate issue for this?

Same here when adding Etar Calendar

@SenorWoofi your issue is not the same as this one - in your case the APK being downloaded is probably not the right one for your device - use the APK filter to filter for the one you need.

That might be a fix. I'm not sure exactly how to setup this filter thing. I tried using an immediate link and it still failed. Do you have any suggestions for what I should input into the custom apk link filter to get it to work? Thanks
