Quicktime error 6 #234

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Everytime I try to open ANY .mov or .mp4 files. 
2. No problems with .avi, .flv, etc.
3. Those files do not open with Movist but work fine on QT, VLC and other 
players.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Play the file.
"Operation could not be completed. (QuickTime error 6.)".

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Movist 0.6.8, Leopard 10.5.8, QT 7.6.9.

Please provide any additional information below.

I have the exact same issue.  Movist 0.6.8, OS 10.6.7, Flip4Mac 2.3.8.1, Perian 
1.2.2

I also have problems with mpg files (older MPEG1).

+1. Mac OS X 10.7.2, iTunes 10.5.1, Movist 0.6.8. No third-party QuickTime 
components installed.
