I've tried modifying the ltoworkarounds to narrow this down but can't seem to get it to build and start.

The only thing that seems to work consistently is going back to march=native -02 pipe.

Have you tried using, app-misc/ckb *FLAGS-="${SEMINTERPOS}" in your ltoworkarounds?

Sorry its been months I had to take the machine back to -02 for a while and finally got back to this.
