Increase usability of ILCD+EPD format or rather the xml-files

I raise this change request because...

[ ] the ILCD+EPD format lacks compliance with regualtions.
[ ] the ILCD+EPD format lacks conformaty with standards.
[X] the ILCD+EPD format needs to be improved regarding existing format or master data elements.
[ ] there is another problem or use case I´m trying to address.

Problem description

Currently the format is not user-friendly since it contains multi-levels. while for some applications, this might be required, it should be checked, whether the overall complexity of the format can be reduced to enhance usability and implementation.

Solution description

Check for simplifications and usability improvements.

While I love the idea of a major overhaul, the scope of this issue is large and the implied changes will certainly be breaking changes.

It would require implementation of a conversion service, I think, which would require a complete mapping between old and new. This makes it a complete overhaul. Strategically, this opportunity should - if we follow through with it -- be addressing as many issues with the current format as possible.

Because the backlog may be large, it would be crucial to better understand what 'user-friendly' means, what implementation challenges are and how viable possible improvements should turn out to be.

Absolutely agree. This one need much more flesh to bone. However, we wanted to raise this topic, since it´s crucial for format success.
