Jobs/Winery Delivery, Collection and Production of alcoholic products #2088

Open vol5 opened 2 years ago

vol5 commented 2 years ago

Assurance: Yes

Name: vol 5#3752 - Bill Brook

Summary:

Below are my ideas to provide valuable roleplay experiences to the city by adding job functionality to the Winery whilst being able to utilize systems within the city that already exist. Doing so could provide many avenues of roleplay within such a business, for instance, providing citizens and businesses with products produced by the Winery along with providing employees with different types of Winery jobs so that they are not left standing doing nothing until someone comes to buy something.

I feel as if my ideas should be looked at as separate ideas rather than one whole idea as some of them may not suit the needs/wants of the city. Each main idea is notated in [] brackets.

Reason: My vision aims to provide additional job roleplay experiences along with providing the roleplay possibility of distributing our products to restaurants and clubs throughout the city and a way for these products to be crafted from harvested materials rather than provided via a buy menu directly within the winery.

I feel that a lot of the systems required in order to provide the following functionalities are already in the city. (For instance, Burgershot already uses a delivery system which with the way it works, this system would suit perfectly for the winery too)

[Wine Delivery Job] - Accessible by any employee This is something that we already have with Burgershot and can be a way that would benefit the Winery as an entity to provide people with more jobs. The vineyard currently is only service based, events, packages, and paychecks. Here is a tactile task for people to complete that would be utilizing a system we already have. So the job would not only benefit Burgershot but the Winery which currently lacks tactile tasks for people to complete. Link for job start is above (Delivery Job Start)

[Fruit Collector Job] - Accessible by any employee This would be a new job, of which I feel is a slight variation of the way that the Waste Collector job works. Intent being utilizing trash job structure but slightly tailored to make congruent sense for the winery and utilizing what entities exist with additions to make the idea work. Photo for Job start and depot is above(Fruit Collector Start)(Fruit Collector Depot)

Step1: Similar to trash, you press E to spawn a golfcart, then it pings you to a random zone location, 1-9 displayed in the map above. (Fruit Zone Map) - Purple being grapes/vineyards, and orange being oranges/orchard. Minimap stays up in the hud just like trash.

Step2: You head to the ping location with a golf cart. You then have to gather from 10 random locations inside the chosen vineyard or orchard zone. Loot goes directly into pockets.

Step3: After you search and gather from 10 search locations in one vineyard/orchard zone, instead of completion, there would be a second randomly chosen vineyard/orchard zone to search from.

Step 4: Repeat step 2.

Step 5: After all locations are searched/looted (20 search spots in total) you then are pinged to take the golf cart back to the depot. See: (Fruit Collector Depot)

Step 6: Depot golfcart and get paid. Depot suggested price range of $250-$350, with no bonus based on distance. I have tested this many times and the duration with this exact procedure is on average and 8 min exercise going as fast as possible.

Fruit Zones:(Similar to trash with many spots created in each zone, and the code deciding which 10 are looted out of the pool. The zones vary in size so this would add variability to the job. eg. Zone #9 is an orchard with only 12 trees, it can have 12 total locations and is the only outlier that can’t hold 20 or more lootable spots. Zone 1 can have 20 loot spots and then 10 out of the 20 are randomly selected to loot) This is entirely your discretion if the zones should all have a set # of 20 lootable locations or vary depending on size. Example of what this would look like see: (Search Locations Map Example) Gathering from locations using the same search mechanic as house cleaning by pressing E. Search duration x seconds (suggested: same duration as emote). Suggested animation while searching being the emote [ / e Inspect ].

Loot pool: is similar to trash, while leaving out things that do not make sense like guns, z pills, thermite, and acid etc.. Fruit vectors are linked above and can be adjusted to any size required. (current size, 2000x2000px with transparent background) Whilst grapes only come from vineyards on the map (highlighted in purple) and oranges only come from orchards on the map (highlighted in orange). Refer to the (Fruit Zone Map) above. It would make the most sense that these new fruit items would have a higher probability to drop given the role that they play in crafting.

[Crafting Station] - Only accessible by Owner/Managers

Crafting: Fruit Ingredients: (Black Grapes, White Grapes, Blue Grapes, Red Grapes, and Orange) Existing Ingredients (Glass, Water). The goal here is to utilize the pre existing mechanic crafting bench tailored for other business usage. The only adjustments here would be that it has multiple ingredient types instead of a single ingredient type and removes the need for any vendor at the Winery. Baseline fee to craft each bottle is $50 (1glass $30, 2water $10) and price would fluctuate to any adjustments to material cost. Crafting table structure see: (Crafting Station) link above. 4 of the 5 craft normal wine and one would craft the new product idea of which was submitted recently. This is an example of what would make most sense and allow for product idea expansion and would also warrant the entire market of wine to be wiped for all alcohol vendors/establishments outside of the vineyard. Making the winery the only way to bring wine in. This is woven directly into the already existing economy and increases glass consumption. It also adds depth to the jobs themselves. Purpose for fruit collection to exist and expands job quantity as a whole. Fruit collection would then be necessary for the business to function through product. This opens avenues for a system of this sort to be used in other businesses as well. I feel that roleplay would be enhanced with additions like these. Having to forage and craft the products provides additional layers of value that would be amazing for the city.

The thought, effort and execution of this is impeccable. Truly. I am thoroughly impressed with this suggestion and i think that with this much dedication and drive to even come up with this sort of system step by step shows that Vol5/Bill Brooks is the perfect man to own this business and execute this job. The massive RP arc this could bring to the city is huge, itd add more wines, more rp, more positive interactions, more jobs, more initiative for the business. I love the idea of workers on little golf carts picking fruits for the vineyards specialty wines! 1000000/10! Please, PLEASE bring this to the city! :D

I really like this idea and damn you really put a lot of work in it. I'll look into it and maybe implement something like that

claymstehling commented 2 years ago

I love this vol, you know I have told it is amazing and I really would love to see a lot of the things you implemented as it would provide a lot of new RP to all cities using the framework

Hello i own the vineyard and i think this is a great idea! any way i can get this reviewed again and possibly get something going with the vineyard. i currently cannot do anything with the place because i cant make or buy anything inside. i think it would be a nice idea to add a press in the vineyard and maybe ill be able to press my own grape and make an exclusive wine to the vineyard.

coalaura commented 3 months ago

@killa3130 it is still open which means its still on the TODO list, however there are a whole bunch of other suggestions too

killa3130 commented 3 months ago

@coalaura ahhh okay thank you very much, i did not know this. Great news, just have to be patient!

This is how i currently invision this:

Winery job allows you to harvest different types of grapes in the vinyard. Those grapes grow similarly to the weed/tabacco fields. Once harvested, you can either eat the grapes as is or process them to red/white wine in the wine-cellar. To do so you have to first process the grapes to juice, then let them ferment in one of the barrels and after a certain amount of time you'll be able to collect the wine from those barrels.

I'm fine with this, and look forward to it. I also put in for the assets in a different issue as you suggested.
