5 days ago I just sent them a message in the website about this exact problem, then I noticed they have a github repo. I'm glad someone else feels the same way.
I was using Paste before moving to PastePal, and switched for the "redact" feature. Immediately after switching, I felt that PastePal was too laggy. I initially thought it was the animation speed, but after looking closely I noticed that there is an added delay BEFORE the animation even starts - and that's what makes it feel laggy. The animation speed is very similar to that of Paste. But Paste feels smooth, while PastePal doesn't. I'd be happy if I could reduce the animation duration even further, but the issue I'd really like fixed is the delay before it even starts.
I ran Paste and PastePal side by side using the same shortcut (so I could press one shortcut and see both open/close at the same time). Paste's animation finishes before PastePal's even starts.
Edit: I just noticed that it's not really an added delay. It's simply that Paste opens the window on keydown and PastePal opens it on keyup.
Edit: some actions - like closing the side panel with ESC - do have a fixed delay. In others, the problem is just the keydown vs keyup.

Hi Everyone I recently purchased PastePal and after a few days of using the application while working I noticed these issues:
Animation Speed: I find that the animation speed for opening the side window is a bit long, which gives me the impression that Pastepal is laggy.
Hot Edge trigger duration: The Hot Edge side window opens only if the mouse doesn't move for x seconds. I also find this duration to be a bit long.

Describe alternatives you've considered add option in the setting with a float input to controll animation and trigger duration.
