pressing escape when adding a value to a property adds an empty value

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. tested on an annotation property 
2. choose to add a value to that property
3. press esc on the window for adding the value

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

nothing should happen

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.

1. the empty string with the language selected in the window before escaping is 
being added
2. it is not possibile to remove that empty value
