Many use of persons, should be people instead.

Team's Response

Persons can be used as a replacement to people in formal/technical writing which in this case follows the latter. We feel that as we have standardised it, it should not constitute a grammatical error.

Team chose [response.Rejected]

Reason for disagreement: This issue should not be rejected for the following reasons:

According to the Merriam-Webster and Cambridge Dictionary, the word "persons" should only be used in a legal setting such as writing for legal documents. Since the user guide is not a piece of legalistic text, the word "people" should be used instead.

The use of "persons" is grammatically incorrect in the context of our user guide and possibly leads to an overly formal tone to the document which can cause stress to users, especially new users, when using the UG.

By acknowledging the grammar error in using "persons" and correcting it in the future, the program's documentation can improve in grammar accuracy and leave a better impression on the user.

Hence, this problem should not be rejected.
