No near 2 cm precision #1

I'm trying to develop a system for measuring wave height. Even when sensor is at rest it doesn't give near 2 cm accuracy.

Here is my code (it's based on this code)

Why the sensor is not symmetrical? That would even out air flow effects from different sides. Are the proper mounting instructions to make it precise as it is specs?
