Is there a way to get the app to run in the background

It should be running in the background already for the Bluetooth functions at least. What background functionality is missing?

I okay so I close the app and my pinetime shows that Bluetooth isn't connected

Ah I see what you mean. No, I don’t believe that’s possible. You have to at least leave the app running in the background.
