Upgrading to Laravel 5.6 (and then to Laravel 5.7) #22

Latest available version here is Laravel 5.5, but ultimately we need Laravel 5.7 (and beyond). There is already a pull request for Laravel 5.5 (see #15) so I merged that one and then updated it to Laravel 5.6
