I've though about

[ ] generating height maps, e.g geotiff files, as they should be easier to use in analysis and should give much better resolution than grid 50+ (probably on par with grid 1+, or even better). This is a crucial component for the flood calculations https://github.com/Ingenjorsarbete-For-Klimatet/ifk-sverige/issues/42. I think each point has a classification, e.g. ground, water, forest, building, unknown etc. See #14.
[ ] try to serve the point cloud as 3D tiles we can visualise on the map. I'm not sure Cesium has a free tier for the backend, and I haven't looked into other ways to do it. Maybe it is enough to serve the 3D tiles as static files. We are using deck.gl which has support for 3D rendering and 3D tiles. Ideally, the full dataset should be available. The data for VG is ~370GB and Sweden ~5TB. We don't currently have capacity to store, serve and process the full dataset, but if we build a poc for a sample we could probably find some funding for it.

It is a fairly open-ended issue that should be split into smaller ones. I've used laspy to play around with a small set of the data.
