Taking a quick look at the list, it looks like the bat signal has gotten the highest ranking: 373 U.S. Social networking. All the other ones barely scratched the rankings, especially the dating ones. The dating one all seem to be tinder rip offs.

But the bat signal one quickly loses steam and falls out the ranking. They launched in dec 2014.

The design of the app is really shit and the reviews make it seem like people are having a hard time loggin in with their phone number. The user experience seems like it's shit.

I think our strategy is right with the core message as getting together with your friends and friends of friends. NOT dating.

My question is how do we convert this core value into sustainable business. That may refer to #12 on possible business models

But before that, how do we add enough value for people to use Signal?

There is no business model if we don't have users.

What does Signal provide that is different or better than Red/Green, Free and other apps that is already out?

If it's meeting new friends, then we'd be back at my previous comment on do we need an app to bring in new friends? Or people just bring them along anyway? Then people will likely just stick with Whatsapp and the likes.
