Progress of tweaking to export UART on mocha device #2

@Insei Hi, Insei, I come to here again is to tell you that I got the TegraBoot messages from headphone port!!!

Its so cool~

It just happed after I bought a new USB2TTL connector to replace the old one. You may rememered that I have made some effort on doing that and expecting it will works but failed due to the computer can't receive any data from the phone.

(Additional, I found that we can tweak the device in more simple way, only applying pin connect in two place, pin4 and pin5,pin8 and pin9, the uart and headphone then bradged)IMG_20230928_181111_Bokeh.jpg

These messages came from the ROM from Dargons10, looks like from the nvboot.bin and tos.img, maybe not the kernel.

Based on this progress, config PRINTK is enough? I don't know, I set all these but messages stops there like mentioned above, whatever it can enter SysUI or not.

These messages came from the ROM from Dargons10, looks like from the nvboot.bin and tos.img, maybe not the kernel.

Sorry, I don’t know exactly how the kernel is configured in Dragons10, but by default on the kernels for our device, UART is disabled. I don’t remember exactly how to enable it on all kernels, I only know that UART is enabled in this kernel.

But if you are thinking of starting to develop this krenel, then you should know that 3D graphics, cameras, sound, touch screens, some power regulators, charging, i.e. do not work. Almost everything doesn't work.

Plus, this kernel requires a TOS with PSCI version 0.2, rather than version 0.1, which is used in all ShieldTablet-based firmware, otherwise you may encounter freezes and other problems. But when using TOS with PSCI 0.2, all shield-based android/kernel/recovery will stop loading or will hang, i.e. these TOS are not compatible.

All I can help you with is sharing the boot image with recovery, and TOS with psci 0.2. boot_image.zip tos_0.2.zip

Thanks a lot! @Insei! I'll check these things that you mentioned, although I have not much understand about the TOS and the PCSI yet until this time.

I always want to know the technical details about tos and tegraboot, although I found some of nvidia documents about the TLK and the TLK source which is hosted on nvidia website https://nv-tegra.nvidia.com/, I never built it successful.

When the first time I flash the los16 ROM into my MIPAD, I noticed that a pcsi-0.1 package is required, I was very curious about what was inside at the time. Now I know that its a secure layer when booting on a device which has a secure achitecture. and I got that tlk is a implementation of ARM trusted firmware.

BTW, TOS is built from nvidia-tlk source, right? and what the diff between pcsi 0.1 and 0.2? puzzled.

The nvidia official TLK, It lack of updates for many years. I can't handle it due to much of build errors.

@arttttt The first time I know Hallium is in year 2018 or 2019,many years past, now the virtual machine and emulator technology updated to a new level,based on that, much of interesting system level architecture running out , wine , qemu on android even docker,kvm or something like that can runs on mobile device.

I was not digging the Hallium much deep, but its name promte me memories about that I ever had a oneplus 6 and event want bring Ubuntu Touch to it at that time.

Comparing porting Halium and porting the virto of QEMU, I guess I may choose later one, in no deep thinking of communities, documents, popularity or something else.

Hallium allows you to use all the necessary android drivers to run any linux operating system. DXVK and VKD3D have the same idea, just convert DirectX calls into Vulkan calls. Hallim is a bridge between android C implementation(bionic) and glibc. So it works natively

I believe L4T R21.7 was the last support for secureboot on jetson-tk1, the document your pointed out as “Jetson Platform Fuse Burning and Secure Boot Documentation and Tools” are very clear and good, I experiment and exercised, it looks like working OK.

L4T R21.8 was the last release for jetson-tk1, there is no official document about secureboot on it, just dig into the u-boot source, it newly introduced “secure monito” module, it appears to be the same thing with secure boot on R21,7, but Nvidia never explicitly documented it, or if I missed something

Yeah I live in mainland so if it is convenice to you, i can send my tablet to you which have an switch chip to make headphone jack uart possible. I'm now working on forward porting this project but i dont quite sure if the tablet works so i turn to you for help.
