@dtziotzios
I note the following errors on the report, as I see it in BSC today. Please indicate which ones of them are due to data issues.
a. The number indicators requested at the beginning of the report are not shown.
b. Chart Group 1, chart 2: The legend on the side is not visible, and when hovering the legend covers the entire chart making it un-usable. Legend in the bottom and when hovering only show the category you're hovering over?
c. Chart Group 2, chart 3: there is a big chunk of data with an empty label
d. Chart Group 3, chart 3: legend and labels not visible
e. Chart Group 4, chart 1: please make it so that the ombre effect created is consistent over time, so that 2021 is darker than 2020 is darker than 2019 etc.. Right now it gets darker till 2013 and then lighter again.
f. Chart Group 5, chart 2 "no data"
g. Chart Group 5, chart 3 legend, labels and filter choice not legible
Some updates regarding @igrypari notes. Please keep in mind that the following changes will be available after the next BSC installation update. I'll inform you here after the update.
a. We are looking into it. b. Fixed using the echarts legend functionality to wrap the text. c. This is an issue with the data. Some names are empty text. We are getting data from pv01 i09 sv08. d. Fixed using the echarts legend functionality to wrap the text. e. We are looking into it. f. Maybe you mean Chart group 6 - chart 2? If yes, then data are missing. We were looking for i12a sv13. g. We are looking into it.
@gkountouris please also provide the SVXX for the Number Indicators.
All the above issues are resolved with the new data provided.
Groupchart 2 chart 2 Probably has a mistake. The data I have given seems to be ok. Groupchart 5 chart 2 Also has the same mistake. Groupchart 5 chart 1 funny number with Mali having the highest average of citations per publication.
@dtziotzios @igrypari
@gkountouris for Groupchart 2 chart 2 the data from pv01 - i09 - sv06 grouped by key are used, as described by Ioanna above. for Groupchart 5 chart 2 the data from pv01 - i12a - sv06 grouped by key and filtered by tag are used, as described by Ioanna above. for Groupchart 5 chart 1 the data from pv01 - i12a - sv09 grouped by metric_scope and filtered by key are used, as described by Ioanna above.
Are these the correct data?
@dtziotzios
Yes those are the correct data.
Hello here are some issues I found, please excuse me if they are mentioned in the open tickets above.
Climate --> EU --> Energy --> technology
@gkountouris Number indicator: Average forward citations - the number is wrong. This is supposed to be the average number of forward citations per patent.
@dtziotzios @GeorgeEnglezosCite technological production trends, share of patents in energy topics over time: when hovering i would like to see the label of only ONE line, otherwise illegible
@dtziotzios @GeorgeEnglezosCite technological production characteristics, patents by Nace code. Unfortunately this visualisation doesn't handle the type of data we have nicely, can we please try a radial polar bar (with multiple colors) or a bar chart (with multiple colors) both ranked by number of patents, and with ability to zoom is/select the range in the axis?
@dtziotzios @GeorgeEnglezosCite technological production characteristics, patents by IPC code.
@dtziotzios @GeorgeEnglezosCite technological impact trends, technological value of patents over time the description has an extra "the" /// it says "where the low is defined as" - please make it "where low is defined as" ---- IF you can please do this change in all of the following charts, the same mistake is carried through, big thanks
@dtziotzios @GeorgeEnglezosCite technological impact origins, patents by country and technological value, please switch description to" Description/Source: The graph shows the number of patents in the Energy domain granted by the EPO and still valid in 2021-Q2 by the country of the applicant, for different types of patent. Use the filter on the top right to switch between different types. There are four types of patents based on the average number of backward citations (BC) and forward citations (FC) to other patents. Adopters (low FC, high BC), enablers (high FC, high BC), pioneers (high FC, low BC) and mavericks (low FC, low BC), where the low is defined as below average, and high as above average. Data Source: Patstat - EPO dataset
@dtziotzios @GeorgeEnglezosCite Technological Impact Origins, patents by organisation (top 100) and technological value - please change description to: The graph shows the top 100 organizations of patent applicants in terms of the number of patents in the Energy domain granted by the EPO and still valid in 2021-Q2, for different types of patents. Use the filter on the top right to switch between different types. There are four types of patents based on the average number of backward citations (BC) and forward citations (FC) to other patents. @dtziotzios @GeorgeEnglezosCite technological impact origins, patents by sector and technological value,
"The graph shows the number of patents in the Energy domain granted by the EPO and currently valid (at least until 2021 Q2) by the type of patent applicant, for different types of patents. Data Source: Patstat - EPO dataset"
change description to "The graph shows the number of patents in the Energy domain granted by the EPO and still valid in 2021-Q2 by the NACE (Nomenclature of Economic Activities) codes of patents as assigned by PATSTAT, for different types of patents. Data Source: Patstat - EPO dataset ."
ideally change chart type as number 3 above. IF NOT then see these comments:
the colors repeat and you have two blues next to each other // can we have non-repeating colors? (wherever this visualisation is used?)
the labels and the title are kind of on top of each other
the labels on the right side are hidden by the legend and are not legible.
@gkountouris technological impact characteristics, patents by nace code and by technological value - i am surprised that there are so few NACE codes when at the chart further up "technological production characteristics, patents by NACE code" there were so many different ones - can you double check the data?
@dtziotzios @GeorgeEnglezosCite technological impact characteristics, patents by IPC code (top 20 codes) and by technological value
please change description to "Description/Source: The graph shows the top 20 IPC (International Patent Classification) codes by the number of patents in the Energy domain granted by the EPO and still valid in 2021-Q2 by IPC, for different types of patents. Data Source: Patstat - EPO dataset"
If you can use multiple colors like in #4 above.
y label says organisation instead of "IPC code"
i cannot read the y axis labels
Requested changes are deployed.
I would like to request additions to the Energy-EU report, in the tab “Technology”.
The user flow that leads to the report is the following:
