A silly idea involving an SIP server #2

I think this might be kind of a ridiculous idea, but hear me out. How about integrate an SIP server into the bbs server and each user receives a randomly generated number between a certain set range and that will be there sip number 😀

Or maybe something silly to set this thing apart from the rest of the other bulletin board software even if that is something as ridiculous as adding VOIP functionalities

I'm not exactly sure what this would look like... we already have software like Asterisk, so I'm not sure how this would differ from that. Integration with Asterisk might be doable, but we'd have to figure out what that would (should) look like.

For context, I run the PhreakNet BBS, and so most people dialing in are already using their own telephone systems to do that, i.e. we already have such a network on top of which this can run.

This isn't really actionable at the moment, so I'm closing this for now, but if you have further thoughts on this, please feel free to comment.
