[x] Refine progress bar alignment #652

Closed amberreeves closed 6 years ago

amberreeves commented 6 years ago

The progress bar at the bottom of the screen and the illustrated shoreline at the top are out of sync. For example, when the progress fish is at the tree icon the shoreline displays the city scape.

From Mike: Let's see if we can recreate and try to refine a bit further.

jmaj commented 6 years ago

Aligned the progress to the illustration more.

Also are they saying they don't want the city scape to appear at all when you get to the tree icon? Because that's impossible.

tespenshade commented 6 years ago

You shouldn't be in the "Rural" region (indicated by the tree) on the progress bar until the fish in the game is past the dam. If this needs further clarification maybe we should sit down IRL.

jmaj commented 6 years ago

Okay, then it's possible, I didn't consider the dam to be a part of the city. I will make some adjustments then send it up

Review progress bar vs. landscape with @tespenshade and compare (seem out of sync)

mtedeschi commented 6 years ago

I've reviewed this with Tara, and I don't believe it is wrong. When I spoke to Laurie, I explained what I believed the idea was, and I want to push back with the following:

The landscape and progress bar are aligned so that once the progress bar's fish is entering a new segment (by passing over an icon), the landscape begins to change to the next section. It does not always mean that you see that segment right away, but sometimes shortly after (usually by only a second).

Entering into the city section, you begin to see the city scene appearing.

Entering into the wilderness, you begin to see the wilderness.
