As the readers of this repo will be pretty much the same people who already know about IDS concepts, to avoid any confusion we need to add a clear definition/distinction/description of Basecamp vs. MVDS vs. Testbed.
Maybe a comparison chart could work well here.
In addition to this comparison, here I wanted to generate some questions that one may ask:

Who should use Basecamp?
Why should I use it? What kind of advantages does it bring to me?
What are the prerequisites? (What skills should I have?)
What are the software/hardware prerequisites to use the Basecamp?
Is Basecamp the same thing with IDS Testbed?
Is Basecamp the same thing with MVDS? What are the differences?
Will Basecamp be updated? How often and by whom? In other words, how releases are managed?
Who is the owner of Basecamp? Who is the maintainer group? Is it open for external contribution?
Where does Basecamp stand in the development journey? (such as I start with Basecamp, then use IDS Testbed to prove interoperability & component behaviour, etc...)
