Bug or feature?
Haha, I think it's a couple of bugs that could together be considered a feature!
I did a long post on the forum when A8 came out, and noted this gameplay:

When you jump into a system with meteors and a comet, you can cancel Battle Stations and use the available power to mine the comet, when you’re outside the area of the meteor shower.
Whether that’s a good thing or just something that needs to be fixed, is up for debate.
Description
Meteor showers are avoidable by moving to the edge of the circular spawn pattern, with the meteors all moving away from your ship.
Flavour affected
Steam
Operating System
Windows
Version
Alpha 9
Is it something that used to work before?
No
Expected behavior
Not sure, I understand that irl meteor showers generally travel in the same direction, having come from the same comet origins, and so it makes sense for them to come generally in the same direction in the game. but maybe in the game there should be the odd meteor that travels against the general flow, to make a chance of hitting a craft sitting on the edge of the system. You could maybe have the meteors spawn in a circular area that moves with the ship? Actually, thinking about it, if this was the intended behaviour, maybe this bug is associated with the fact this shower never stops, is it stuck in place maybe, and not moving with your ship?
Actual behavior
I had a system that was experiencing a meteor shower (incidentally it appears related to another big already submitted, where the meteor shower never ends) and I found that by travelling to the edge of the system I could avoid the meteor spawns. Zooming out in tactical view, the circular and directional nature of the spawn pattern becomes apparent, and if I moved outside the edge of the circle with the meteors moving away from me, it meant I could never be hit by any meteors, as they would always spawn moving away from my ship. Not sure if this is intentional, but it seemed like cheating the meteor system.
