Consideration - A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing Part 3 requires multi-system simulation when not enabled by default in free roaming mode #302

Description

I was helping someone on the Discord earlier with this mission (haven't played in a while though, I promise to get back into the game!) and one of the tasks they had was to send one ship to a warzone. However, given that the multi-system simulation is not enabled by default on free-roam mode (where this mission is available, to add) it is impossible to do the mission without save-file editing.

There is a way to fix it though as per the Alpha 7 changelogs and later the wiki - adding MultiSystemSimulation true to the top of the save file. However, most normal users will not know this and give up in frustration and confusion.

Here's the example save file they provided me (this is without the edit) Wolf 3 - Stuck.zip

Flavour affected

Steam

Operating System

Windows

Version

Alpha 10

Is it something that used to work before?

New feature

Expected behavior

You should be able to jump with one of your two ships to a different system when playing this mission in free-roam mode.

Actual behavior

You cannot jump to another system with only one of your ships (Commander Harken gets NPC angry-mode with you) when playing this mission in free-roam mode without save-file editing.

Repro steps

  1. Get to the point in A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing Part 3 where you are required to jump to a pirate system with one of your ships.
  2. Witness Commander Harken get angry at you for being a fool for trying to jump with both of your ships.
  3. Edit the save file to include the multi-system fix and try again. You can now jump to the pirate system with one of your ships.

There is then the question of whether the missions are even intended to fit in this mode. They may or may not be, it's possible this hasn't been fully decided yet, as most of the focus is on Industry and has been for some time.

These new episodes are only intended to be playable in the new 'BOLDLY GO' mode. We have removed them from survival and freeroam
