Game gives neutralize pirate gang mission in system that does not exist on map #303

Description

mission specifies system 85 in sector 4, but system 85 does not exist. clicking the button in the mission description to show where the mission is just brings up the map with nothing selected.

free roam mode.

Is it something that used to work before?

unsure, never seen this before, but only played A10

Expected behavior

would expect the game to send me to a system that exists

Actual behavior

game chose a system that is not on the map. also cannot abandon mission, so it is stuck there.

Repro steps

accepted "neutralise pirate gang" mission in sector 4 on free roam. could not see system on map.

Do you have a save file you could share?

A10 pirate mission bug.txt Sure, attached. Had to change the file type to txt for the upload.

Nice one. Zip files also work.

Well, here's your problem: system 85 A. has bonkers position values and B. didn't finish getting created somehow. System85DoesNotExist

Here's an edited version of your save with system 85 placed on the map where you can get to it. image
