This obviously wouldn't normally be a problem, but I am a 21:9 pleb and there isn't a single map with a background that fits my display. As a result, when maps apply something like screen shake, then the out-of-bounds areas become visible, and in this case it can be extremely distracting. See video.
On another note, I'm not sure, but this may apply elsewhere with other effects. It's probably a massive edge case that truly does not matter, but if functional completeness matters to you, now you have that to worry about (I'm sorry)
