@anxcon has suggested a very interesting concept in #95 about failure rates being influenced by the environmental conditions. We should look into that.

I hope @NathanKell doesn't mind if I ping him into this (he is, after all, the official scientific advisor of the project).

planet with acidic atmosphere....driving tires through lava...... why? because if it exists...someone will do it

@Ippo343 no problem. :) I've just been away. One interesting thing to consider with the environment is "how much pressure is there?" Less in the obvious "crush your vessel" direction than that engines designed to be lit in vacuum may not light in an atmosphere--particularly at high dynamic pressure.
