Fails to backup my database #6

Closed thinsoldier closed 8 years ago

thinsoldier commented 9 years ago

Doesn't matter if I choose just database or both database and all files.

The zip files contain /wp-content/upgrade/dreamobject-db-backup.sql which is always an empty file.

Ipstenu commented 9 years ago

How big is your database?

thinsoldier commented 9 years ago

If I do an export from phpmyadmin to a single .sql file it's 869kb

Ipstenu commented 9 years ago

When you turn on the error logging, does anything show up?

Also are you on DreamHost or another host?

thinsoldier commented 9 years ago

I turned the logging on. The word "error" doesn't occur in my log at all.

I'm running wordpress on a local webserver.

Ipstenu commented 9 years ago

You're running the plugin error log, right? Can you paste it's content's in here? :)

To clarify there's a debug log in the plugin to record what it's doing. That's what I'd like to see.

Also since I'm running locally I have php error reporting turned on and there are a lot of notices and warnings related to the dreamobjects plugin.

It's really only 3 but they occur multiple times per page sometimes.

Strict standards: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, non-static method DHDO::cron_schedules() should not be called statically in /wp-includes/plugin.php on line 214

Strict standards: Only variables should be passed by reference in /wp-content/plugins/dreamobjects/admin/backups.php on line 73

What version of mySQL and PHP are you using?

thinsoldier commented 9 years ago

PHP Version 5.5.19 mysql 5.6.21

Ipstenu commented 9 years ago

I have not yet tested on MySQL 5.6 so I'll get on that and see if there's something weird in it.

thinsoldier commented 9 years ago

I recently upgraded.

Previously I was using mysql 5.5.31 and php 5.4.19

It wasn't saving sql data with the older versions either.

Ipstenu commented 9 years ago

I ... want to say something's wrong with SQL on your end, since I can't reproduce that (tested on 5.4 and 5.5 here). I'm going to keep banging on it, but WP 4.1 just dropped, so this may wait till after Hanukkah :/

thinsoldier commented 9 years ago

I'm trying to get xdebug working so I can step through the code as it executes and hopefully see what's going wrong when it gets to the database related code.

Ipstenu commented 9 years ago

Sadly I've just not been able to reproduce it on any setup I built.

Ipstenu commented 8 years ago

I was never able to reproduce this :(
