I planted a tree back here to get to the stone of destruction. When I remove the tree later (erm, "earlier" I guess) after collecting the stone, these leaves remain.
Also, planting a tree in the "entrance caves" leads to the tree growing when you advance time, but when you rewind time, the trees and acorns are placed but the old tree trunks, leaves, etc. are not cleaned up
