Okay, I think we should move forward with the simple option for family accounts as step 1.
What does this look like? Family account 1st creation page probably stays the same:
Then make a family account pops up-I enter the parent info and at least 1 kid info and save it. Then I think the next page would be the consent page. Should:
-have embedded consent form to scroll through. Above the form: "Parents/guardians please review and sign the consent form."
-Have area to type in signature sort of "above the fold" so it's clear what action is needed. Also a clear message. "By signing, I attest that I am the parent/guardian registered on this account and that I agree to Curiosity Machine's terms"
-When you type your signature it approves the account
Just to confirm, this is what we currently have. After the final screen shown, you have to open your email and follow the HelloSign workflow, as well as clicking the link to take the pre-survey:
I think you're suggesting something like this, except for the last screen. I left the current "To activate your account..." screen in there because it also handles making people take the pre-survey. Do you want a required pre-survey next year? If not that last screen on the right could be the dashboard I think.
Yes, the format you suggest for first 4 screens is great.
Regarding pre survey - I want to change that format for next year. Tara is okay with us only requiring pre survey for English speakers and not requiring for countries where English is not first language.
Should I make a new ticket now for that or do you have what you need for this ticket? I think the 5 screens is perfectly fine for Season 1.
Opened #2034 related to this
@stenington to clarify: this is still open because the work that was completed was for families but not students, is that right?
@hellafitz correct!
Hellosign renews in November
Leaving a note here that we have the possibility of switching to a lower cost signature service and should talk in Aug or Sept about that option.
As mentioned in #2017, HelloSign locks us in to an email validation workflow that some users find too lengthy or confusing. From my limited research, there seems to be a lot of gray area with e-signatures when you want to make sure they're legit, but I don't have much of a background in that area. It's possible we could pursue a much simpler option, e.g. having the user type their name in a box directly on CM, and still be pretty well covered.
