Inviting judges via RPEs is not working #2088

An RA recently sent this to @ophelieh:

I'd like to report a bug on the website. When I try to add a judge with their email address, it shows up to invite them (they are not yet registered in the system), I click the green check mark, and they show up correctly to add, with the "send email" box checked. But then when I press save and refresh, a completely random email has been added and the one I entered is not there.

For QA, it's going to be hard to try to force the error to occur, but I would suggest the following:

  1. log in as RA
  2. create an event if needed
  3. select Add Judges
  4. use the pop-up to enter an email address that doesn't have an account (you can use the plus trick, e.g. mike+noaccount1@iridescentlearning.org)
  5. click Save Changes
  6. refresh the page and confirm the same email address is shown as invited
  7. check your email and confirm you received an invitation
  8. repeat for another email or two

Seems to be working fine for me. I can close the ticket once Nick validates it works for him too.

@kmorton2017 Did you reopen this because you saw problems on staging or on production? The fix was just deployed to production today.

@kmorton2017 Ok, it should be fixed on production as of today. If you already have strange invites in an event, delete them and re-invite the judges you actually want. From today forward, those invites should no longer randomly switch to a different email, but let me know if you're still seeing that problem and I'll re-open this or a new ticket.

I can confirm that I no longer see random emails for judges on my events as an RA.
