CompactGUI.exe is virused and my pc files destroyed if you open it in hxd you will see in the end zeros, this an virus the guy who upload it was virused

Iridium-IO commented 3 months ago

It's not a virus. The source code is literally right in front of you. The end zeroes are just to get the hash to start with 77C for fun. (77 is the atomic number of iridium, and C for CompactGUI)

SternI commented 3 months ago

trust, I know it's not a virus I mean the person who uploaded it has a virus I know this virus when you open the exe file, all Windows files are destroyed CompactGUI.mono.exe is fine but CompactGUI.exe is not I want you to try to run CompactGUI.exe file which is in v3.5.1 versions Your Windows files will be corrupted

Iridium-IO commented 3 months ago

Uploaded where? Because I'm the only one who has control of uploads on GitHub. If you're downloading it from somewhere else, that's not something I can control

SternI commented 3 months ago

i compared 3.5.0 with 3.51 (i renamed to .txt to not get virus again) image also i download it from https://github.com/IridiumIO/CompactGUI/releases/tag/v3.5.1

SternI commented 3 months ago

just try run it and you will see

SternI commented 3 months ago

i also built it from source, no zeros any comments? image

I'm not doing this to annoy you, I'm just doing this for your users safety, my Windows exe files got infected with viruses and I had to reinstall it, so please upload it again and make sure its safe

Iridium-IO commented 3 months ago

I literally told you in the first reply that I added the zeroes, just for fun to get the hash to start with 77c

Just scroll up in HxD to offset 02926544 and you'll see both files have the same ending except for the zeroes.

Here's the VirusTotal inspection for the 3.5.1 version that's been on the releases page this whole time https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/77c023870286dd06aa30b1c40903702f377bf7264559564329c8c456de0120af

If your exe got infected then that's on your end, not mine.
