if I use 1000 machines, how long could I get a wallet?

swatfa commented 3 years ago

much faster. Instead of 10 Billion years it might take just a few million

A single grain of sand contains about 2 thousand billion billion atoms. This repo contains 20 million addresses (20 million atoms) Our chance of finding a private key is like finding one atom in the whole visible universe. Possible - sure - but very highly unlikely due to the enormity of the private key space. But fun to think of finding that one atom though - LOL

true, well the creator of this project as well as bitcrack have both mysteriously disappeared, quite possibly due to 1 of 3 probabilities: a) they found a key and they're both celebrating on their million dollar yacht in Cancun b) Korean government has kidnapped them and is working them round the clock to crack bitcoin c) they realized this was all futile and went back to their 9-to-5 job

no-one knows, it's nice to hope it's "a"

Here's to hoping it's "a" too @swatfa - LOL

  • personally i'm using the plutushybrid project which uses the mnemonics method; not a substantial improvement in odds but some improvement; easier to find 12 words unless there's some maths i'm missing in how they work. Also trying to add CUDA gpu capabilities to plutus to make this more efficient

Finding Private keys its not so difficult today , the difficult thing is finding the private keys with coins inside them LoL . I think Bitcoin Developers now have many improvements to make Bitcoin more secure than before , but , hey who knows if you lucky you will get them :) regards Roby WIjaya Telegram : @xchanger88
