I'm not sure I understand the question.
At the moment, the text is enclosed in a TEI ref
element to indicate that it is a reference, but nothing else has been done. The ref
element can have a target
attribute whose value is a hyperlink pointing to another location (including in another volume). I would guess that e.g. [CB 41/569]
could be interpreted programmatically (is the 569 a page number?) if that's desired.
I believe what we need here is a column in our table ("Original CB Reference") that includes this information--it can be supplied just as is: "CB 41/569". We'll figure out the meaning of the cross reference later, and split it if need be.
