What does "new ser." actually mean in this context?
New Series. It used to be a thing probably more in the past than currently, that journals would restart the numbering of their volumes, so there would be Vol 1 from, say 1872, and a Volume 1 from 1938. The New Series designation designation distinguishes them. @StephenPWeldon we put those in the volume filed, correct?
