Same for me. I just installed Vault Hunters via CurseForge, following the online installation guide. Made sure to set the allocated memory to be more than the recommended value (I set it to 8.544 MB) Clicked play, logged into the Minecraft launcher and hit play. The game starts loading (the screen with the Mojang logo on a red background) but at around 90% progress it stops. After a few seconds it crashes back to the launcher, showing the error message that Yu-Hayate wrote above.
No, wait. My bad. It was the wrong version of Vault Hunters. When you follow the installation guide, step 5 does not work for me. Clicking on the link does not allow me to download Vault Hunters automatically, instead it takes me to the download page for Curseforge (even though I already have Curseforge). So for that step I went into the Curseforge app and searched for Vault Hunters. A few different versions showed up, and I picked one of the two that had been updated most recently (I think it was the "Official Mod" version) but that one did not work as described above. Today I deleted my Vault Hunters installation and went through the installation guide again. But this time, I checked what the link in step 5 actually said and found the AddonID number for the modpack (711537). When I put this number into the Curseforge search bar, it took me to Vault Hunters 3rd Edition (not the one I installed last time) and this version works fine.
