WTF MEMORY USAGE #918

I know its improper and impolite to express some personal feelings on a github-issue, yet this really annoys.

I'm running multiplayher server on a AMD3950x+32GiB@2666MHz Memory mainframe and i dont believe thats a common spec amongst minecraft players, then

20GiBs and still users cannot join a single server? kidding?

There really should be some optimization.

For single player worlds, we recommend 6-8G. For servers we recommend 4G + 2G per player and people have seemed to be very successful with those starting numbers.

That's obviously just a starting point - as every world develops differently and people create different amounts of load, but it's possible there are other factors outside of the memory alone if you're unable to run at 20G.

Weird I run a server with 5 to 10 people on it and 12 gb ram seems to be more then enough. Did you use the optimized java flags? You can also optimize server performance with common performance mods for mod packs like FerriteCore and Starlight.
