Island DAO - separating voting token from 💰💰💰 economic interest token

GOAL

Separating the voting power from economic interest.

Currently, Island DAO is using a Dandelion template based on Moloch: https://aragon.in/island

Reputation template allows for non-transferable tokens: https://rinkeby.client.aragon.org/#/reputationtesting/ (testing, testing)

I would like to accomplish the best of both worlds:

• one token for voting
• one token for monetary share

We are not married to Aragon. If there is any other DAO framework (DAOstack, Moloch, Colony) - a solution also acceptable.

Is possible to have Aragon DAO with multiple token classes?

• Token class A: founders and early employees
• Token class B: investors, advisors, community
• Token class C: initial public offering, participating in profits but no voting
• Token treasury: someone put $$$ to receive ownership of the project, but no voting power (and symmetrical: someone with voting power but no $$$ in the game)

Is it possible right now? Any blogs, resources, workarounds?

Asking because for the Island DAO I would like a few guys to have voting tokens, even though they do not have much $$$...

Yes, with multiple tokens apps installed. There are some templates already with a two-tier structure (e.g. fundraising, company-with-board).

DAO with 2 types of tokens: loot (proportional to financial input) and vote (1 per human)

I'm thinking about Gitcoin-fy this task.

This is a genuine need for the Island DAO. White-male-educated-highincome can afford $10k

Loads of guys can afford only $1k but want to allow participation and voting rights.

I'm not experienced using CLI and surely I would start from testing on Rinkeby... It would take me loads of hassle... I think Gitcoin-fy is a way to go, would you agree?

Do we need Aragon actually? What about https://snapshot.page/ ? Off-chain voting... That's pretty next-level. At the same time we need to figure out a better way to manage the treasury.

I think that having 2 different types of tokens are totally practical and reasonable.

No need to put a bounty for that.

Just 2 different type of tokens:

• one for voting
• another one to reflect the financial value
