If content managers want to be able to manipulate metadata of nodes, media, and taxonomy terms, then the bulk options available with Migrate are very hard to use. And Workbench is very object-centric and cannot individually manage taxonomy terms or media.
For the moment, we could look at Feeds as an option for this.
The main difference, I think, is that Migrate was not designed to be used as ongoing content management tool. Feeds is meant for ongoing imports.
We currently almost work with Feeds, except are missing field targets for EDTF and Typed Relation fields.
