Lakea Exit Events Not Finishing #260

When Lakea has exit events, she isn't always completing them before shutting down. This may be caused by the main thread ending before the final background thread running the exit events finishes, more investigation needed.

Acceptance Criteria:

Lakea consistently runs all exit events
