We currently used a old version of VLC (0.8.5). The SAGE plugin should be 
updated to version 1.x.

I have made a 1.x plugin (for 1.0.5). Its available in the same style as the 
previous
plugin i.e. modified source tarball, from:
    http://www.vislab.uq.edu.au/research/optiputer/software/vlc/
