Gradient Charts

I'm looking for the best way to go about creating a futuristic chart. I've been told it won't be too hard to get the gradient effect. I need to shade my graph in a way that colors define significance. For example, low points might be a red gradient and high points may be green. Certain chart data such as sales may be hard coded temporarily.
