Fast switch of input method #7

Hello Ivan!

First of all, I'd like to say THANK YOU for creating this app. It's made me
stop longing for the bluetooth HID keyboard support that's so long overdue in
Android.

Now I can IM and SMS from my phone (saving me from opening ICQ/MSN/Skype on the
PC every time I sit down at my desk) without having to type everything on the
phone keyboard. This first version is already surprisingly polished and works
extremely well. No missing letters, little to no lag when typing fast, and most
importantly: No crashes and graceful reconnects, even after killing the process
with a task manager!

And now, the feature requests:

1. A way to piggyback on an existing input method, so that you can use WiFi
Keyboard and a soft keyboard at the same time and don't need to constantly
switch input methods. This works just fine with the hardware keyboard on my
Milestone already (which was a very pleasant surprise), but I'm sure users of
phones without hardware keyboards would really appreciate this.

2. USB support without ADB (haven't actually tried this yet... can't figure it
out). Maybe a PC-side utility like AndroidScreenCast?

Other than that, I'm completely satisfied with this app. Absolutely awesome.
Thanks again for creating it :)

Just tried USB, works fine. Now I can use this even when I'm not at home... :)

I would also really like if suggestion 1 would be implemented. Would be great
if we didn't have to switch input methods manually.
Btw. thanks for your great application.

1. Yes it would be nice feature to have, though people tend to like using
custom keyboards for input and I don't see a way to make the switch work. The
only thing I can add is the default keyboard to appear (I can embed it in my
app) when no active browser connection.

2. Creating standalone app is not in my list of priorities. Though if someone
is willing to write one, I could support it.

I would also love a softkeyboard / wifikeyboard at the same time...

Hi, I have the same problem. If I want to use WiFi keyboard I have to go to
settings and change WiFiKeyboard to default input method. That is not
absolutelly comfortable. My phone is Samsung Galaxy S3.
Is not there any possibility to let WiFiKeyboard "listen" even there is another
keyboard presented?
Thank you very much and good luck. Robert

Unfortunately it's no more the case with the latest Android versions. Can we have the Input method choice activity with e.g. Fxx or tapping the notification? BTW, thanks a lot. Many years using this app still very useful!!!
