December Advent Calendar #1593

What the hell do you think you're talking about:

Hello and welcome to my blank canvas. Basically, I had mentioned in an offhand comment about dev posts that maybe for Christmas this year we could do an advent calendar, where every day something new is revealed. This could fill the void of a lot of things we haven't shown yet but are not quite important enough to generally show as a separate development post.

How in the fucking world are you going to do this:

With the help of everyone, of course. We all have things that we want to show off, be cryptic about, or we just want to raise excitement. We also probably don't want to flood #development every day with something new, so one of us could make a small website that holds all of the days and stuff.

Ideas:

Big:

Reveal some Reality Upgrades. By Christmas we could be rapidly approaching release, and we could show how they work.

Better ideas:

Take from Idly's pinned post in #patch-group-discussion (https://canary.discord.com/channels/351476683016241162/700766312556789831/771254093447561216) for a few days.

Show some perks! They don't have to be particularly cool, just some fluff.

We also have a post in #patch-testing with a list of stuff.

On December 25th, we could either:

A) Do a cool ARG (alternate reality game) thing to reveal something a bit larger about the update. This could include cracking codes, searching in live AD, or something with our names and statuses on discord, even.

B) Reveal something big the boring way.

Other comments: This is an astronomically huge undertaking.

Some other things about the ARG: I had an idea for a cypher with Time Studies. You could do it one of two ways:

I probably won't start constructing the calendar yet, but I wanted to get the idea out here.

In the words of Omsi, have an above average day.
