This is a.. VERY... VERY... advanced process if I can't figure out how it should be done.
Basically, there will be a dialog that allows you to develop your own items. Items that are custom will have something along side them to display that they are custom.
Custom items may be deleted, and these custom items will fall into the Searchables, and they can be configured as much as they can in the development. Custom items can be managed via the button next to the Inventory Button (#4).
