Distance scale bar on map view #576

Can scale bar been added to the map screen?
When internet is available, map is not shown. A scale bar will help to give an 
idea of the range I have traveled.

A mapping application for hikers and bikers - with no scale bar. How stupid is 
that? First off, ALL maps should be able to display a scale bar. But especially 
for this purpose it's vital to know the distance to the next waypoint or maybe 
the end of the trail! The person who decided a scale bar is not needed in an 
app like this should be fired.
